Journey Community Church is a free, self-governing faith community. We choose to associate with other churches, networks, community groups, and organizations because we find strength in common values and we can participate in ministries and mission with a wider, even global impact.
We are supported by American Baptist Churches of the Central Region, www.abccr.org . Through this regional network, we can partner with other churches for wider mission impact in our local community. ABCCR equips local churches and ministers with spiritual, educational, and mission opportunities, a support network for accountability, as well as financial support for new church plants.
We are in a creative partnership with Central Baptist Theological Seminary, www.cbts.edu . We will gather for worship and larger community activities at Central’s campus, 6601 Monticello Road, in Shawnee. We are planning to involve seminary students in the life and ministry of Journey Community Church, with the church as a primary training ground for students preparing to start new churches or serve churches in need of renewal.
